Staying at the Sorell Hotel Merian in Basel was a delightful experience that perfectly blended comfort and convenience. the location by the Middle Bridge, overlooking the Rhine River, provided a serene ambiance, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring the city's attractions. the close proximity to the city center allowed for easy access to museums and other points of interest, making it a strategic base for my adventures in Basel. From the well-appointed room with a picturesque view to the luxurious amenities like the Rituals of Mehr handwash in the bathroom, every detail was carefully curated to ensure a memorable stay. the half-price entry to museums and complimentary public transport with the BaselCard added value to my visit, allowing me to immerse myself in the cultural offerings of the city. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at the Brasserie Spitz, renowned for serving some of the best fish dishes in Basel. the breakfast buffet was a true delight, offering a diverse selection of dishes that catered to every taste. the friendly and efficient staff further enhanced my experience, providing excellent service with a personal touch. Whether you're seeking a relaxing retreat or a convenient base for exploring Basel, this hotel ticks all the boxes.
